This was the best tasting Mexican food I have had in a long time. The service was excellent. Our waiter was very informative and made sure we got everything we wanted and done right. I will travel again from SC to eat here.

We decided on this place because it had the best reviews. Unfortunately we did not have that experience.

The food was pretty bland and the service was very slow. But the thing that brought this review down was that a man that seemed to be the manager or owner came to our table to help clear the dishes and was talking on his cellphone. And then when he brought our bill he was still on the phone!
It's just really disrespectful to ask for money but not even take the time to get off the phone or have another employee bring the bill.

The food was outstanding. I consider this the best Mexican food in the county. The meals for dinner are around 11 dollars. I had nachos. The level of detail they put into their food is excellent. Portions are huge for what you pay for. The service was excellent. A waiter helped a man stand who was having difficulty. The restaurant is in an old opera house built in 1907. So if you want to see something historic and are a fan of old buildings, go by and eat at the restaurant.

We had a choice of two downtown restaurants for lunch.  One described as  Applebee's-like "without the ambience."  The other as "ordinary Mexican."

With these blasé descriptions  we chose Mexican --- and were pleasantly surprised.  Lunch was great!

T and I both ordered the daily special:  $7 Texas fajitas. Our plates were laden with goodies: steak, chicken, shrimp, refried beans and a guacamole salad.  "I can't eat all that,"  I said.

    But I did.

Washed down with potent frozen margaritas, this was as good a lunch as any I've had in awhile.
